‘Candymint’ has stunning carmine red buds that reveal white-tinted soft pink flowers in spring. In autumn, the leaves turn butter yellow and contrast beautifully with the long-lasting small purple fruit – a great food resource for wildlife – not so good for the kitchen as they’re a bit small! This attractive, modest-sized crab apple tree has a spreading habit.
Garden care: Plant ‘Candymint’ as soon as conditions allow (avoiding frozen and waterlogged soil). Choose a sheltered spot to protect emerging blossom. Incorporate lots of well-rotted garden compost in the planting hole and stake and support firmly. If required, prune in winter to remove any dead, diseased or crossing branches.

Pollination information: This apple has a very long flowering period, so belongs to all the pollination groups and therefore is ideal for using as a pollinating partner to all other apples.
